Port Infrastructure and Development Program (PIDP) Comprehensive Tie and Ballast Replacement Project
The Port applied for and was awarded a $10 million grant through the PIDP program to support comprehensive railroad tie replacement and improvements to the ballast throughout the length of the line. This work is scheduled to commence in the Fall of 2023 and take approximately 2-3 months to complete and will involve replacement of approximately 44,000 ties throughout the 134-mile rail line.
